Birth of an Immortal

Fri Jun 26, 2009, 9:43 PM
In comic books and mythology, you often hear the stories of people who are called Immortals. These are people who for one reason or another can’t die and live forever. They are mythical creatures, or gods, or vampires, or ordinary people who have been bestowed some supernatural powers that make them Invincible. They live for all of eternity as their friends and families fade from existence.

In the real world, we have just witnessed the birth of an Immortal. How can a real person become an Immortal you might ask? With love, compassion, caring for others, dedication to their craft, and perfection. MICHAEL JOSEPH JACKSON possessed all of these things. His mortal form passed from our realm of existence on June 25, 2009, but in doing so it made him IMMORTAL. No longer can anyone harm him with hurtful words or phrases. No longer can anyone call him wacko or talk about his eccentricities. No longer can he be plagued with illness or pain forcing him to take painkillers. And no longer will he have to suffer loneliness or the feelings of being misunderstood.

Since his birth he has held many titles. At the age of ten he was called AMAZING and became known as a PHENOMENON. He was the foundation to the first boy band that all others tried to imitate and immolate for years to follow; New Edition, New Kids on the Block, Backstreet Boys, Boys II Men, and Nsync. By his teens he and his brothers had traveled the world and were loved by millions. He had become a MUSICAL GENIUS with several hits that took him through the Jackson 5 years up through his signing with Epic Records. In his early twenties he released an outstanding album called Off the Wall and became known as a RECORD BREAKER. A few years later, He became a THRILLER, with the release of the album by the same name. And then he did a performance on Motown 25 that made him a LEGEND. His moves were UNBELIEBABLE, his performance was MAGICAL. We just witnessed a man do the impossible. He floated across the floor. I remember being awestruck, staring at the TV with a grin from ear to ear. Then at the Grammy awards he became known as the KING OF POP as he received Grammy after Grammy and fermented Thriller as the highest selling album of all time. In the years that followed, people started to question his skin color, his odd habits and his hanging around kids. They labeled him WACKO and ECCENTRIC. Then he was accused of wrong doing with young children, and some called him a PERVERT or MOLLESTER, but nothing was ever proven. But through it all, Michael Jackson became an ICON for the generation and an INSPIRATION for the music world.

Upon his death, Michael got a new title, IMMORTAL. Even as his physical, mortal form left this realm, he was breaking records. People searching for news on what had happened spiked to levels so high that Google’s search engine almost crashed. He had the highest search results that Yahoo has ever had, and every one of his records has flown off the shelves in stores world wide.

The mortal Michael Jackson may no longer be with us, and he will surely be missed. But the IMMORTAL KING OF POP will live on forever.
Rest in Peace, Michael. Long live the KING.
